1. About Arthur Avellano's Latex

Arthur Avellano's garments are made from pure natural latex; a great alternative to leather.

Natural latex is made from rubber tree sap (AKA rubber serum). After the serum is collection, the tree's bark heals rapidly. Rubber trees can yield latex for as long as 30 years.

Arthur Avellano's latex is treated to be hypoallergenic which also makes it more durable over time and easier to care for.

2. Washing Latex

Thanks to the treatment Arthur Avellano applies to his latex, you can wash these garments in your washing machine at 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) with a dose of WonderWash latex cleaning product -- we do not sell WonderWash but we can refer you to sites where you can purchase it.

3. Extra Care

Latex should be treated as a second skin with special care.

Keep latex away from household oils, mechanical oils, grease and solvents which can cause permanent damage.

Extreme heat will melt the latex (Radiators, candles, etc).

Sunlight will cause discoloration over time. Especially light colors and transparent styles. Do not expose latex to sunlight for extended periods of time.

High humidity can destroy and discolor the latex as it is a natural material. Keep it dry and give it time to dry after washing.

Metal items such as hangers, pennies, etc. will permanently stain the latex. Keep these items and sharp objects away.

Purchase WonderCare product and apply every six months to nourish your latex (we do not sell WonderCare but we can refer you to sites where you can purchase it).

Store in a garment bag on a wooden or plastic hanger. Avoid metal hangers.
